Research progress of the relationship between intestinal flora and diseases

Abstract:Many diseases are associated with intestinal flora imbalance. A number of gut microbes involving in the regulation of metabolism and the immune system of the host determines the body state of health and disease by interacting with environmental factors. This review focuses on the research progress of the relationship between intestinal flora and diseases such as the metabolic syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer to further identify its role in human health, and explores the treatment of these diseases through probiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation.
