Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of standardized three-step analgesic ladder for treatment of patients with advanced cancer pain. Methods Ninety cases of patients with advanced liver cancer pain were randomly and equally divided into the experimental group and the control group, according to the patient’s compliance. Forty-five cases of the experimental group with strong adherence accurately followed the principle of standardized three-step analgesic (oral administration, on-time administration, pain-score administration) to relieve pain while the control group followed the traditional three steps analgesic ladder therapy for pain treatment. Results Patients in the experimental group by standardized three-step analgesic ladder were effective in 25 cases (55.57%), markedly effective in 12 cases (26.67%), and ineffective in 8 cases (17.78%). The total effective rate was 82.23%; while the patients in the control group by traditional three steps analgesic ladder therapy, 7 cases were markedly effective (15.56%), 21 cases were effective (46.67%), and ineffective in 17 cases (37.78%). The total effective rate was 62.23%. Conclusions The method of the three-step ladder analgesic therapy in the treatment of patients with advanced liver cancer pain, is safe and reliable and also is convenient for patients to take medicine. Strengthening clinical practice and improving patients’compliance can increase the analgesic effect, reduce the pain of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, and improve their life quality.
