Abstract:In recent years, with the progress of tumor radiotherapy, radiotherapy of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has attracted more and more attention, and more and more evidences show that it has a good therapeutic effect. SBRT has been critical in improving local control or potential cure in liver lesions not amenable to first-line surgical resection or radiofrequency ablation. Active investigations of SBRT have recently started, yielding promising local control rates. However, the researches on optimal treatment indications, doses, and methods remain limited. Herein, this review discussed the emerging role of SBRT as current indications, optimal doses, efficacy and safety in non-surgical patients with primary HCC.
