Research progress of laboratory diagnosis of neurosyphilis

Abstract：During the latest decade, increasing prevalence of syphilis in China leads to an increase in the prevalence of neurosyphilis, and the prevention and treatment of neurosyphilis has become one of the most important public health problems. Early diagnosis and standardized management of neurosyphilis are of important significance in improving the therapeutic efficacy and prognosis in patients with neurosyphilis. This article provides an overview of the research advances in laboratory diagnosis of neurosyphilis in terms of invasion of central nervous system by Treponema pallidum, involvement of central nervous system by Treponema pallidum, and the relationship between the invasion and the involvement.
