Abstract:Ebola virus disease (EVD), caused by Ebola virus (EBOV), is a severe hemorrhagic contagious disease. Since March 2014, it has spread in several countries of West Africa, which have captivated the world's attention and concern, and WHO declared the EVD outbreak in West Africa as a public health emergency of international concern. Though several impeding factors have limited the development of Ebola vaccines and there are no approved Ebola vaccines for humans, the current epidemic has provided a surge for faster development of Ebola vaccines. This article focuses on the advances in the development of Ebola vaccines, including animal mo-dels for vaccine evaluation, types of Ebola vaccines and clinical studies of experimental vaccines.
