Research advances in molecular epidemiology of rabies virus

Abstract：Rabies is a zoonotic disease. While China has made efforts in prevention and control of rabies over the past few years, the geographical distribution of the disease is widened annually. This review focuses on the genetic typing and molecular epidemiology of rabies virus isolates in order to better understand its genetic evolution, and then provide a scientific basis for formulating effective strategies for the prevention and control of human rabies.
