Application of molecular diagnostic techniques to the detection of infectious diseases
WANG Sheng-qi
Abstract:Fast and accurate detection of infectious pathogens is the premise of effective prevention and control of infectious diseases and also the basis for rational use of drugs. However, the traditional diagnostic methods such as isolation and culture of pathogens can not fully meet the needs of clinical therapy of infectious disease and the disease control. The newly developed rapid diagnostic techniques can effectively compensate for the lack of traditional methods. The progress of the application of next-generation sequencing, nucleic acid amplification, biochip and biosensor in the infectious diseases diagnosis is reviewed in this article.
