Investigation of measles antibody levels in local and nonlocal resident women of childbearing age in Xincheng area of Daxing district, Beijing

Abstract：Objective To investigate measles antibody levels in local and nonlocal women of childbearing age living in Xincheng area of Daxing district, Beijing, so as to provide evidence for the prevention and control of measles. Method Measles an-tibody levels were determined in local and nonlocal women of childbearing age living in Xincheng area of Daxing district from Jan. to Jun. 2013. Result The levels of measles IgG antibodies in nonlocal resident women of childbearing age were higher than those of local resident women of childbearing age (P<0.05). Conclusions The levels of measles IgG antibodies in local resident women of childbearing age are significantly lower than those of nonlocal resident women of childbearing age, and local women of childbearing age who are not included in the planned immunization are especially at a high risk for measles. The immunization for the local wo-men of childbearing age should be enhanced, especially for the population who are not included in the planned immunization.
