Abstract：As one of the most common acute digestive system emergencies, gastroesophageal variceal bleeding is a severe complication with high mortality in patients with liver cirrhosis. This article focuses on the recent advances in the prevention and treatment of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis.
