Abstract:This study investigates methods to enhance the resilience of train timetables by optimizing the time supplement allocation. Firstly, an analysis of actual train operation data is conducted to iden-tify patterns in train delays. Based on critical positions and key train assessments within the timetable, a redistribution of time supplements is proposed while maintaining the overall quantity unchanged. Sub-sequently, conflicts in train schedules are resolved under operational interval constraints to formulate a revised train timetable. Finally, a case study using a daily timetable of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway evaluates the effectiveness of the proposed method under varying initial disturbance sce-narios using an automatic train operation adjustment system. Results demonstrate that the average to-tal delay decreases from 143 minutes before reallocating time supplements to 123 minutes thereafter, indicating a 13.99% reduction. This approach effectively mitigates external disruptions to improve timetable resilience.
