Abstract:The air-gap of linear induction motors (LIM) is large and the flat-solid secondary consists of the aluminum and back-iron plates.Hence, the secondary leakage inductance of LIMs is much smaller than the primary leakage owing to the absence of the squirrel-cage bar and end rings in the secondary LIM.Moreover, the assumption that leakage inductance of stator is equal to the one of rotor is applied in the conventional parameter estimation technique which includes the noload and blocked rotor tests.Hence, this conventional technique is not suitable for LIMs and the parameter identification of LIMs is more difficult relatively. In this paper,a parameter estimation scheme for LIMs at standstill is proposed.Without the no-load and blocked rotor tests, the primary resistor R1,primary leakage inductance L1,secondary resistor R2,secondary leakage inductance L2 and mutual inductance Lm can be obtained by a PWM inverter. The parameter β is proposed and defined to calculate the mutual inductance and secondary leakage inductance. Finally, simulations are performed and the effect of β on the proposed method is analyzed. The results show the accuracy of the proposed method.
