Abstract：The purpose of this paper is to put forward a scheme for developing r ailway freight marketing information system (RFMMIS). In this system, GIS is sel ected as the visible information platform. Based on Client/Server structure, the function of RFMMIS can be well realized. In the end, RFMMIS of Beijing Railway Bureau as an example was given to expound this scheme in detail. Then its superi ority in railway freight marketing can be clearly seen.
