Abstract：Box-filtering technique is applied to the computing of similarity measurement o f intens ity based on stereo matching and the processing of rectangular structure element in mathematical morphology, and the computing complexity is greatly reduced. Takin g advantage of the relation between calculation of adjacent pixels, box-filteri ng technique can reduce the computing operations. Its main advantage is that it approaches 4 operations for each pixel and is independent of the window size. In addition, this paper improves on the box-filtering and reduces the who le time of the computing.
