Inheritance and Development of Traditional Batik Craftsmanship in the Qiandongnan Region

Abstract：The traditional batik craftsmanship in the Qiandongnan Region is an important part of China's batik techniques,with Miao batik as a representative example,boasting distinctive ethnic characteristics and significant artistic and economic value.Qiandongnan batik not only embodies the local people's traditional culture,lifestyle,and humanistic connotations,known as a"history book without words",but also exerts a profound influence on the development of traditional arts of ethnic minorities in southwest China.Facing current challenges such as unsystematic collation of batik patterns,a shortage of inheritors,and excessive development of cultural tourism,measures should include strengthened government protection,innovation in batik patterns,and cultivation of batik inheritors to safeguard the development of traditional batik craftsmanship.
