Abstract:To study the physical-mechanical properties and energy evolution laws of yellow sandstone under high-temperature conditions, physical tests and uniaxial compression tests were performed on yellow sandstone treated at different temperatures. The results indicate that:as the temperature rises from 25 ℃ to 700 ℃,the volume expansion rate, mass loss rate, and density reduction rate of yellow sandstone all increase with temperature, with their rates of change increasing more significantly when the temperature exceeds 300 ℃;with increasing temperature, the compaction stage of the stress-strain curve is gradually prolonged, and the peak strain increases gradually;the peak stress and elastic modulus decrease gradually with temperature treatment below 300 ℃,but increase significantly at 500 ℃;the total energy evolution process can be divided into four stages, corresponding to the stress-strain curve, which characterizes the failure process of yellow sandstone.
