The Intertextuality of Preface to Call to Arms and Lu Xun's Novels
LI Shi
Abstract:Detail reproduction of literary texts is not only a main method of modern literature research, but also a way to understand the main idea of the work, grasp the writer's ideology, and understand the objective world. In fine literary works, there are often some similar characters, scenes, events, and images and feelings, which undoubtedly provide readers with a new vision for expectation. The existence and production of any literary meaning must depend on the symbiotic context and text, and the text can only obtain practical meaning by referring to the text, which is the"meta-text"we often mention.Lu Xun's interpretation of literary spirit, interpretation of literary content and creation of literary value in Preface to Call to Arms virtually forms a literary contrast with the modern novels he created later, and this intertextuality exploration undoubtedly opens a new perspective for us to interpret Lu Xun's works and injects new element to Chinese literature.
