Abstract:The phytoplankton community structure of Xiaonanhai Reservoir in Anyang city was investigated in mid-July during the wet season. The results showed that a total of 21 species(genus)were identified in this survey.Chlorophyta has the most species, with 7 species accounting for 33%,followed by Bacillariophyta with 6 species, accounting for 29%.In terms of plankton density and biomass, the Cyanophyta phylum was clearly dominant, while the Chlorophyta phylum was the most diverse but had low densities. The dominant species of the phylum Cyanophyta were Aphanizomenon sp.and Oscillatoris sp.During the flood discharge period, the water level rose, the water body in the sampling area was relatively calm.A large amount of nutrient salt intake, high temperature, and sufficient light provided favorable environmental conditions for the growth of cyanobacteria, which may be one of the main reasons for the dominance of cyanobacteria. This situation puts the Xiaonanhai reservoir at risk of high trophic levels and pollution.
