Abstract:To investigate the impact of explosive layer thickness on explosive welding quality,SUS304 stainless steel was chosen as the clad plate, and low-carbon alloy steel Q345R was utilized as the substrate. The simulation of explosive welding with varying explosive layer thickness(15 mm,20 mm,and 28 mm)was conducted using a combination of ANSYS finite element software and LS-DYNA software through the SPH-FEM coupling algorithm.Three distinct control groups were established for analysis. It was observed that the explosive thickness increased, the wavelength and amplitude of interface waveform also increased, resulting in improved welding quality in other aspects.
