On the Language Aesthetics of Baoding's Old Tune

Abstract：Baoding Old Tune originated from the popular folk song"Hexi Tune"in Hebei before the middle of the Ming Dynasty.Its scripts are desolate,simple,unconstrained,and heroic,which is a perfect fusion of local opera and historical literature.Overall,the characteristics of Baoding Old Tune scripts are distinct,mainly manifested in the widespread use of spoken language,dialect,and two-part allegorical sayings.At the same time,the script of Baoding Old Tune contains a large number of ancient words,idioms,and poetic and elegant sentences.The aesthetic features of popular and literary language are presented,where elegance and vulgarity are intertwined.
