The Communication Effect of Chinese Documentary Translation and Overseas Distribution from the Perspective of National Discourse System

Abstract：A corpus was constructed based on viewers'comments on the overseas video website YouTube,and analyzed with the help of the corpus software AntConc to examine the overseas reception and dissemination effect of the documentary China's Mega Projects(Season 3).The study found that although some viewers still hold prejudices against the outreach of Chinese documentaries,the film was generally positively evaluated by overseas viewers thanks to the excellent production of the work itself.Under the perspective of national discourse system construction,the narrative and production planning of documentary films should overcome the limitations of mainly domestic promotion,and CGTN's promotion should aim to meet the demands of the audience,thus Chinese documentaries can better reach global audiences.
