Green Port Regulations and Policies:International Experience and Measures in China
GAO Xianjie
Abstract:Ports are an indispensable and vital component of the global trade and logistics system, playing a key role in facilitating commerce and economic development.Environmental pollution at ports is primarily caused by ship emissions. To address port pollution issues,a range of regulations and policies have been established both domestically and internationally. As the world's largest developing nation and a major manufacturing power,China has seen robust growth in its port industry.Nonetheless, there is still a need to further improve the certification system and incentive policies for green ports to enhance the economic benefits and social value of green port development. The regulations, policies, and practical experiences of green ports both at home and abroad can serve as mutual references, fostering a symbiotic and mutually beneficial relationship.
