Abstract：With the continuous development of social economy, also in the rapid changes in urban construction, urban residential area is no longer the past people's old ideas in a single standard. The form of residential build?ing color combination should be based on the requirement of the mass aesthetic standards, colour occupies an im?portant position in the category of the visual arts. Color design as an important part in the architectural design, is also part of the building structure system. Residential area color planning is a gradual process, in principle, to en?sure the residential color order update, requires a new color planning must be based on the status quo of color ex?ist to the new change of the old and inheritance.
