A study of Urban Waterfront Spatial Nodes:The Case of Almere in Netherlands

Abstract:Being the most significant space in the city, more and more waterfront space has come out. However, the lack of experience and the short period for constructing,many waterfront projects reveal some serious prob?lems. Under these circumstances, the object in this paper is to examine the node space of urban waterfront, to search for the methods to design the node space of urban waterfront in a sustainable develop-mode.Based on the case study of some typical node space of urban waterfront in Almere, by analyzing the waterfront elements and the environment behavior, the paper explores how to create a more effective and unique waterfront node space that can make them to be sustainable to live with the city.
