On Reform of College English Translation Teaching in Independent College

Abstract：With the development of society, there is an increasing demand for graduates who know their own pro?fession well and speak fluently in English. At present,there is still a huge shortfall of them. In this paper, the au?thor applies the Independent College as an example to explore the teaching method of combining non-English major students' professional knowledge with their English skills and the reform of the translation teaching in col?lege English to cultivate applied talents and meet the social needs as well as provide reference for the improve?ment of its school-running quality and the formation of its school-running characteristics.
