The Application of Automated Online Writing Assessment System

Abstract：The cultivation of writing competence in college English has long been a tough question. Meanwhile , modern information technology,a sign of the modernization of language teaching, offers an opportunity to solve the above problem. This empirical study is based on formative assessment theory, and is carried out under the aid of WRM2 and an autonomous writing model raised by the author. At the same time, all the statistics are collected through various instruments, including two questionnaires, teacher and students' journals and interviews. In this study, the author tries to explore the relationship between WRM2 and autonomous English writing competence of college students.
