The Pragmatic Study On the Mixing of Chinese and English

Abstract：With the increasing international communication with other countries in the world, the mixing of Chi?nese and English (code-switching) is also becoming more and more popular. However, people hold different opin?ions on this phenomenon. Actually, code-switching has been an important topic of sociolinguistics for a long time. The paper tries applying pragmatic principles to analyze and interpret why the mixing of Chinese and Eng?lish arises and becomes so popular, thus guiding people to approach the phenomenon objectively.
