Application of Non-Contact Charging Conveyer Belt Inspection Robot in Menda Mining
Abstract:To address the issues of high workload, low efficiency, and safety hazards in manual inspection of coal mine main conveyor belts, Wushan Qi Menda Mining Company jointly developed a non-contact charging conveyor belt inspection robot with China Coal Research Institute Robot Technology Co., Ltd. The non-contact charging inspection robot system consists of the robot body, multi-wheel track, magnetic coupling charging, and edge computing AI modules. It features 0–1800 mm adaptive height adjustment, 7 cm-level deviation detection, over 91% foreign object recognition, and real-time monitoring of multiple parameters such as methane/CO/smoke. It uses underground explosion-proof non-contact wireless charging, with a range of over 20 km, and can still operate independently even if the LAN/5G network is interrupted. Field industrial testing over 10 months showed that the number of inspectors per shift decreased from 5–6 to 1–2, and inspection efficiency increased by more than 50%, with a significant reduction in abnormal downtime.
