Innovative Practice of Intelligent Mining in Thin Coal Seam Working Faces
Abstract：Coal, as the main energy source in China, plays an important role in economic development. With the increase in mining intensity and the reduction in remaining service life of mines, many coal enterprises have gradually shifted to the exploitation of thin coal seams. China has abundant thin coal seam resources, which are widely distributed in more than 80 mining areas, with an industrial reserve of 9.83 billion tons, of which the recoverable reserves are about 6.5 billion tons, accounting for approximately 20% of the total recoverable reserves. Among the 75 operating coal mines of Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Shandong Energy), 32 mines have coal seams of less than 2 meters in thickness, accounting for 42.6%. The total resource volume of these 32 mines is 5.44 billion tons, of which the resource volume of thin and slightly thick coal seams below 2 meters is 2.58 billion tons, accounting for 47.4% of the total resource volume.
