Abstract：During the production operations of open-pit mines, the number of transport drivers accounts for more than 50% of the personnel working underground. Due to safety risks, harsh working environments, and high work intensity, the phenomenon of aging transport drivers is severe, and it is urgently necessary to solve this issue by enhancing technological capabilities. Autonomous driving technology integrates multiple core technologies from new infrastructure construction such as artificial intelligence, 5G, and big data, and has characteristics of intelligence, unmanned operation, and digitalization. Innovation represented by autonomous driving in mines can promote the transformation of the mining industry model, change traditional mine transportation production methods, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the coal industry in terms of safety, greenness, and efficiency.
