A New Method for Detecting and Repairing GPS Cycle Slips
Abstract:In high-precision global positioning system (GPS) measurements, cycle slip detection and repair are critical steps. Accurate and rapid detection and repair of cycle slips can reduce the computational load of integer ambiguity fixation, and their quality directly affects the accuracy of GPS positioning. Based on post-processed observation data from a rover station and an International GNSS Service (IGS) station, this paper explains the principles of the ionospheric residual method and polynomial fitting method for detecting cycle slips, and proposes a GPS cycle slip detection and repair method suitable for general conditions. Through simulation experiments of carrier cycle slips, it was found that when the ionosphere changes stably, this method can effectively detect and correctly separate small, large, and special cycle slips of more than one cycle at each frequency point of GPS.
