Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupoint Patching Combined with Modified Mask Inhalation of Lemon Essential Oil in Patients During the Recovery Period After Laparoscopic Surgery
Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical application effect of traditional Chinese medicine acupoint patching combined with modified mask inhalation of lemon essential oil in patients during the recovery period after laparoscopic surgery. Methods A total of 200 patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery at Liuzhou Workers' Hospital were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 100 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care during the postoperative recovery period, while the observation group received additional traditional Chinese medicine acupoint patching combined with modified mask inhalation of lemon essential oil. The incidence of nausea, vomiting, and agitation during the recovery period, as well as oxygen saturation, were compared between the two groups. Results The severity of nausea and vomiting in the observation group was less than that in the control group (Z = -8.172, P < 0.001). The agitation score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (t = 28.191, P < 0.001), and the duration of agitation was shorter in the observation group (t = 15.820, P < 0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in oxygen saturation between the two groups during the recovery period (t = 1.422, P = 0.157). Conclusion Applying traditional Chinese medicine acupoint patching combined with modified mask inhalation of lemon essential oil in patients during the recovery period after laparoscopic surgery can effectively relieve postoperative nausea and vomiting, improve agitation, and has good safety, making it worthy of clinical promotion and application.
