Observation on the Efficacy of Modified Yupingfeng Decoction Combined with Conventional Treatment in Patients with Allergic Rhinitis of Lung and Spleen Qi Deficiency Type
Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of modified Yupingfeng decoction combined with conventional treatment in patients with allergic rhinitis of lung and spleen qi deficiency type. Methods Sixty patients with allergic rhinitis were selected from Dezhou Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to March 2024, and they were classified into the lung and spleen qi deficiency type according to TCM syndrome differentiation. The control group (30 cases) received conventional treatment, while the observation group (30 cases) received modified Yupingfeng decoction combined with conventional treatment. Results The scores for sneezing, nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and nasal itching in the observation group were (0.24±0.06), (0.31±0.08), (0.29±0.02), and (0.35±0.04) points, respectively, while those in the control group were (1.98±1.26), (1.76±0.94), (1.86±0.98), and (1.86±0.49) points (t=9.185, 8.054, 8.092, 8.617, P=0.001, 0.002, 0.003, 0.001), with statistically significant differences. Detection of inflammatory responses showed that the observation group had IL-4 levels of (38.01±1.17) pg/ml, IFN-γ levels of (12.03±3.26) ng/L, and IL-12 levels of (78.92±5.67) pg/ml, while the control group had (48.82±2.38) pg/ml, (8.15±1.03) ng/L, and (65.53±2.09) pg/ml (t=6.981, 7.994, 9.664, P=0.001, 0.000, 0.000), with statistically significant differences. Further detection of immunoglobulin levels showed that the observation group had IgM levels of (1.92±0.53) g/L, IgA levels of (1.86±0.69) g/L, and IgE levels of (150.18±4.59) IU/ml, while the control group had (1.02±0.21) g/L, (1.40±0.18) g/L, and (215.60±6.98) IU/ml (t=5.628, 8.686, 8.054, P=0.001, 0.004, 0.003), with statistically significant differences. Conclusion In patients with allergic rhinitis, combining modified Yupingfeng decoction with conventional treatment has an ideal therapeutic effect, effectively improves symptoms, reduces inflammatory responses, and is beneficial for regulating immunoglobulin levels.
