The Power of Narrative to Convey the Humanity of Medicine
Abstract：What is the essence of medicine? Is it cold instrument data, or strict diagnostic procedures? In today's rapidly developing medical technology, Lanzhou University Second Hospital (hereinafter referred to as 'LZEH') has keenly identified the 'shortcoming effect' of medical humanities — no matter how advanced the technology is, it cannot replace the comfort of the heart. In 2024, under the active guidance and support of the hospital party committee, the Youth League Committee of LZEH launched the first narrative medicine story writing competition with the theme of 'Narrative and Evidence-Based Medicine, Science and Care Go Hand in Hand'. The purpose is to use the real stories of medical staff to build a bridge for doctor-patient communication and convey the warm power of medical humanities.
