Research Progress on the Impact of Hemodynamic Changes in Arteriovenous Fistulas on Fistula Maturation and Failure
Abstract:Chronic kidney disease (chronic kidney disease, CKD) has become the 19th leading cause of death globally and a major public health issue [1]. Some patients with CKD may progress to the end-stage renal disease (end stage renal disease, ESRD) stage [2]. Hemodialysis is one of the most important renal replacement therapies for ESRD patients. Vascular access (vascular access, VA) is the lifeline for hemodialysis patients, and a well-functioning VA is a prerequisite for successful hemodialysis treatment [3-4].
