Expert Consensus on the Methodology for Assessing Recurrence Risk of Cervical Cancer (2025 Edition)
Abstract:1. Background
Cervical cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the female reproductive system, with incidence and mortality ranking fourth among all female malignancies [1]. The 5-year survival rate for early-stage cervical cancer patients who receive standard treatment can reach as high as 90%, but some patients still experience recurrence and metastasis after surgery [2-3]. Surveys have found that the overall recurrence rate of cervical cancer surgical cases in some regions of China from 2004 to 2019 was 12.5%, and older age at initial diagnosis and higher tumor stage were associated with a higher recurrence rate [4].
