Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Genital Mycoplasma Infection (2025 Edition)
Abstract:1. Introduction
Mycoplasma is a common prokaryotic microorganism closely related to genital tract infections. Mycoplasma may cause urethritis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., but it also has a high carriage rate in the general population. Based on the current understanding of mycoplasma infection at home and abroad, the Collaborative Group of Infectious Diseases of the Chinese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Genital Infection Group of the Chinese Society of Sex Medicine have summarized recent research progress at home and abroad, following the 'Guidelines for Developing/Revising Clinical Practice Guidelines in China (2022 Edition)' [1], combined with the actual clinical situation in China, to develop the 'Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Genital Mycoplasma Infection (2025 Edition)', which elaborates on the principles and specific programs for the diagnosis and treatment of mycoplasma infection.
