Chinese Expert Consensus on Integrated Management of Ovarian Cancer During the Perioperative Period (2025 Edition)
Abstract:1. Background: Ovarian cancer ranks third among gynecological malignancies in women, while its mortality rate is the highest. According to the 2022 GLOBOCAN report, there were 324,398 new cases and 206,839 deaths from ovarian cancer globally [1]. With continuous advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic methods and innovative drugs, the treatment of ovarian cancer has formed a comprehensive approach combining surgery, chemotherapy, and targeted drug maintenance. Among these, high-quality surgery remains the cornerstone of ovarian cancer treatment. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has played an important role in preventing postoperative complications and promoting postoperative recovery. Commissioned by the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, this consensus was developed by a team that strictly followed the core concept of the 'Assessment-Support-Control-Protection-Survival (ASCPS)' integrated cancer care guidelines. It further integrates the strengths of both Western and traditional Chinese medicine to optimize perioperative management, aiming to prevent surgical complications and promote rapid recovery in patients with ovarian cancer. The consensus team reviewed and organized existing literature and guidelines, analyzed and summarized common clinical issues during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of ovarian cancer, and provided detailed integrated management plans for gynecologic oncologists.
