Study on the Efficacy of Jiangzhi Tongluo Capsule Combined with Bicyclol in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Abstract：Objective: To investigate the efficacy of Jiangzhi Tongluo Capsule combined with Bicyclol in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods: A total of 116 NAFLD patients admitted to The First People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 58 cases in each group. The control group received Bicyclol treatment, while the observation group received Jiangzhi Tongluo Capsule combined with Bicyclol treatment. The clinical efficacy, lipid profiles, liver function, intestinal flora status, and quality of life before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.10%, which was higher than 77.59% in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level was higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the positive rate of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of psychological function, physical function, and social function in the chronic liver disease patient-reported outcome measure (CLD-PROM) were higher in the observation group than in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Jiangzhi Tongluo Capsule and Bicyclol shows significant efficacy in treating NAFLD, effectively improving lipid metabolism disorders, promoting liver function recovery, regulating the intestinal microbiota, and enhancing the quality of life.
