Clinical Study on Ultrasound-Guided 'Cocktail' Shoulder Joint Infusion Combined with Acupuncture and Moxibustion Precise Release for the Treatment of Painful Frozen Shoulder
Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of ultrasound-guided 'cocktail' shoulder joint infusion combined with acupuncture and moxibustion precise release in the treatment of painful frozen shoulder. Methods: A total of 64 patients with acute frozen shoulder treated at Taizhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from January 2023 to September 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 32 cases in each group. Both groups received oral celecoxib capsules and shoulder joint rehabilitation training. The control group received traditional acupuncture and moxibustion release, while the observation group received ultrasound-guided 'cocktail' shoulder joint infusion combined with acupuncture and moxibustion precise release. The clinical efficacy, pain levels, shoulder joint function, range of motion, serum inflammatory factor levels, sleep quality, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the visual analog scale (VAS) score, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score, and serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the Constant-Murley Shoulder Score (CMS) and all ranges of motion of the shoulder joint were higher in the observation group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). No adverse reactions occurred during treatment in both groups. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided 'cocktail' shoulder joint infusion combined with acupuncture and moxibustion precise release for the treatment of painful frozen shoulder can enhance clinical efficacy, effectively relieve pain, inhibit inflammatory responses, improve shoulder joint function and range of motion, and enhance sleep quality without increasing adverse reactions.
