Observation on the Efficacy of Shengxuebao Compound Combined with Polysaccharide Iron Complex in the Treatment of Iron Deficiency Anemia During Pregnancy
Abstract：Objective: To investigate the application effect of the combined regimen of Shengxuebao Compound and Polysaccharide Iron Complex in patients with Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) during pregnancy. Methods: A total of 130 IDA patients admitted to Puyang City People's Hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 65 cases. The control group received treatment with Polysaccharide Iron Complex, while the observation group was treated with Shengxuebao Compound in addition to the treatment of the control group. The clinical efficacy, blood routine indicators, iron metabolism indicators, incidence of adverse reactions, and incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), red blood cell count (RBC), hematocrit (HCT), and hemoglobin (Hb) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum ferritin (SF), serum iron (SI), and transferrin saturation (TSAT) levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the soluble transferrin receptor (STFR) level was lower, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions or adverse pregnancy outcomes between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine regimen of Shengxuebao Compound and Polysaccharide Iron Complex has a significant therapeutic effect on IDA patients, which can improve blood routine indicators and serum iron metabolism indicators without increasing the risk of drug adverse reactions or adverse pregnancy outcomes.
