Clinical Analysis of Xuan Yong Qing Fei Decoction Combined with Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy Alveolar Lavage and Suction Therapy for Severe Pneumonia
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Xuan Yong Qing Fei Decoction combined with fiberoptic bronchoscopy alveolar lavage and suction therapy in the treatment of severe pneumonia. Methods: A total of 92 patients with severe pneumonia admitted to Xinmi City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2022 to October 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 46 cases. Both groups received symptomatic supportive treatment and fiberoptic bronchoscopy alveolar lavage and suction therapy after admission. In addition, the observation group received auxiliary treatment with Xuan Yong Qing Fei Decoction. The clinical efficacy, severity of illness, blood gas indicators, serum inflammatory factor levels, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE-II) score and Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS) of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the oxygen saturation (SaO2), oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2), and partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, while the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) was lower, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), and procalcitonin (PCT) in the serum of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Xuan Yong Qing Fei Decoction combined with fiberoptic bronchoscopy alveolar lavage and suction therapy can alleviate inflammatory responses, improve blood gas indicators, stabilize the condition, and does not increase adverse reactions.
