Clinical Observation of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction Adjuvant Therapy for Cold-Damp Bi Syndrome after Surgery in Elderly Patients with Intertrochanteric Femoral Fractures

Abstract：Objective: To observe the effect of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction adjuvant therapy on patients with cold-damp bi syndrome after surgery for intertrochanteric femoral fractures in the elderly. Methods: A total of 90 elderly patients with cold-damp bi syndrome after intertrochanteric femoral fracture surgery treated at the Fourth People's Hospital of Xinyang from September 2022 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 45 cases in each group. Both groups received routine treatment, while the observation group also received Duhuo Jisheng Decoction adjuvant therapy. The clinical efficacy, bone metabolism indicators, hip joint function, hospitalization time, clinical healing time of fractures, and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of osteocalcin (OC), calcitonin (CT), and bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the Harris score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The hospitalization time and clinical healing time of fractures in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Duhuo Jisheng Decoction adjuvant therapy shows good therapeutic effects for cold-damp bi syndrome after surgery in elderly patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures, which can improve bone metabolism indicators and hip joint function, shorten hospitalization and clinical healing times, and reduce the occurrence of adverse events.
