Clinical Observation of Yangwei Chuyou Decoction Combined with Bismuth-based Quadruple Therapy in the Treatment of Helicobacter pylori-Related Gastritis
Abstract：Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Yangwei Chuyou Decoction in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori (Hp)-related gastritis. Methods: A total of 110 patients with Hp-related gastritis admitted to Jiangning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2021 to February 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group, each with 55 cases. The control group received bismuth-based quadruple therapy [proton pump inhibitor (PPI) + bismuth agent + two antibiotics] for Hp eradication, while the treatment group received oral Yangwei Chuyou Decoction on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment, Hp eradication status, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of both groups were lower than before treatment, and the treatment group had lower scores than the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The Hp eradication rate of the treatment group was 90.91%, higher than 76.36% in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The overall incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Yangwei Chuyou Decoction combined with bismuth-based quadruple therapy is significantly effective in treating patients with Hp-related gastritis, which can improve clinical symptoms, enhance the Hp eradication rate, and reduce drug adverse reactions.
