Observation on the Efficacy of Cerebellar TMS Combined with Ear Acupressure in Treating Sleep Disorders and Depressive States After Stroke
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical effectiveness of cerebellar TMS combined with ear acupressure in treating sleep disorders and depressive states after stroke. Methods: A total of 60 patients with sleep disorders after stroke admitted to Jinkang District Zhongren Geriatric Nursing Hospital, Shanghai from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly divided into control group and experimental group using a random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional rehabilitation therapy plus ear acupressure treatment, while the experimental group received additional cerebellar TMS combined with ear acupressure treatment on top of conventional rehabilitation therapy. The sleep quality, severity of sleep disorders, depressive status, and clinical efficacy of both groups were compared before and after treatment. Results: At 1, 3 months after treatment, and during follow-up, the PSQI scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). At 3 months after treatment and during follow-up, the AIS scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). At 3 months after treatment and during follow-up, the HAMD scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Cerebellar TMS combined with ear acupressure can significantly improve sleep quality, alleviate sleep disorders, and effectively relieve accompanying depressive symptoms, offering hope for patient recovery.
