Observation on the Effect of Modified Shenfu Granule in Treating Elderly Patients with Type II Cardiorenal Syndrome (CRS) of Yang Deficiency Syndrome Combined with Anemia
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of modified Shenfu granule in treating elderly patients with type II cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) of Yang deficiency syndrome combined with anemia. Methods: A total of 63 patients with Yang deficiency type II CRS combined with anemia treated at Guangdong Provincial Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a conventional group (32 cases) and a combined group (31 cases) according to the random number table method. The conventional group received conventional Western medical treatment, while the combined group received conventional Western medical treatment combined with modified Shenfu granule. The changes in blood routine indicators, inflammatory markers, cardiac and renal function, TCM syndrome scores, and anemia indicators before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the levels of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), red cell distribution width (RDW), and serum C-reactive protein (CRP) in the combined group were lower than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and TCM syndrome scores in the combined group were also lower than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of red blood cell count (RBC) and hemoglobin (HGB) in the combined group were higher than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: Modified Shenfu granule can improve the cardiac and renal function of elderly patients with Yang deficiency type II CRS combined with anemia, and also improve local inflammation and anemia status.
