Effect of Da Cheng Qi Tang Enema Combined with Conventional Western Medicine Treatment on Pancreatic Function and Gastrointestinal Motility in Patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of adding Da Cheng Qi Tang enema to conventional Western medicine treatment on pancreatic function and gastrointestinal motility in patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Methods: A total of 70 patients with severe acute pancreatitis admitted to Henan Electric Power Hospital from March 2022 to February 2024 were selected as the study subjects and divided into a control group and an observation group according to the treatment method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the observation group received additional Da Cheng Qi Tang enema therapy on top of the control group's treatment. The treatment effectiveness, TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment, pancreatic function, gastrointestinal motility indicators, severity of illness, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores, APACHE-II scores, serum amylase (PAMY), lipase (LPS), vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), and gastrin (GAS) levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the motilin (MTL) level was higher, with all differences being statistically significant (P<0.05). No adverse reactions occurred in either group. Conclusion: Adding Da Cheng Qi Tang enema during conventional Western medicine treatment for severe acute pancreatitis has a definite therapeutic effect, which can relieve clinical symptoms, improve pancreatic and gastrointestinal functions, help stabilize the condition, and improve prognosis without increasing adverse reactions.
