Effect of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction Combined with Acupuncture and Manipulation Release in the Treatment of Adhesive Capsulitis
Abstract：Objective: To investigate the effect of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture and manipulation release in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis. Methods: A total of 82 patients with adhesive capsulitis treated at Ningde Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 41 cases in each group. The control group received acupuncture plus manipulation release, while the observation group received additional treatment with Duhuo Jisheng Decoction on top of the control group's treatment. The clinical efficacy, serum inflammatory factor levels, shoulder joint pain intensity, range of motion of the shoulder joint, and shoulder joint function were compared between the two groups. Results: The overall effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6, and C-reactive protein (CRP), visual analog scale (VAS) scores, and present pain intensity (PPI) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while the external rotation, internal rotation, extension, flexion range of motion, total range of motion, pain, muscle strength, and daily life scores were higher in the observation group, with all differences being statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with acupuncture and manipulation release shows significant clinical effects in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis, which can reduce the inflammatory response, alleviate pain, improve the range of motion of the shoulder joint, and enhance shoulder joint function.
