Effect of Jianpi Yangxue Qufeng Decoction Combined with Ear Acupoint Pressing on Patients with Atopic Dermatitis of the Blood Deficiency and Wind-Dryness Syndrome
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of Jianpi Yangxue Qufeng Decoction combined with ear acupoint pressing in the treatment of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) of the blood deficiency and wind-dryness syndrome. Methods: A total of 98 patients with AD of the blood deficiency and wind-dryness syndrome admitted to the 73rd Group Army Hospital of the People's Liberation Army from September 2021 to June 2024 were selected as the study subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, each with 49 cases. The control group received desloratadine tablets, while the observation group received Jianpi Yangxue Qufeng Decoction combined with ear acupoint pressing on top of the treatment for the control group. The clinical efficacy, serum indicators, skin barrier function, severity of skin lesions, pain level, quality of life, incidence of adverse reactions, and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum immunoglobulin E (IgE), interleukin (IL)-4, transepidermal water loss, and the Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) score, visual analog scale (VAS) score, and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score in the observation group were lower or less than those in the control group. The levels of serum IL-2, sebum content, and stratum corneum moisture were higher in the observation group compared to the control group. All these differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). The recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Jianpi Yangxue Qufeng Decoction combined with ear acupoint pressing can enhance the clinical effect, improve serum indicators, restore skin barrier function, reduce skin damage and pain, improve quality of life, without increasing adverse reactions and with a low recurrence rate.
