Effect of Huatan Tongqiao Decoction Combined with Cognitive Function Training on Post-stroke Cognitive Impairment
Abstract：Objective: To observe the effect of Huatan Tongqiao Decoction combined with cognitive function training on post-stroke cognitive impairment of the syndrome of phlegm-damp obscuring the orifice. Methods: A total of 70 patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment admitted to Nanshi Hospital in Nanyang City from February 2024 to October 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group received basic treatment plus cognitive training, while the observation group received Huatan Tongqiao Decoction treatment in addition to the treatment of the control group. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome scores, degree of cognitive impairment, daily living ability, and changes in cognitive function were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: After treatment, the MMSE score, P300 amplitude, TCM syndrome score, SS-QOL score, and overall effective rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, while the P300 latency was shorter than that of the control group. The differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Huatan Tongqiao Decoction combined with cognitive function training can enhance the clinical efficacy, alleviate the clinical symptoms, reduce the degree of cognitive impairment, improve daily living ability, and improve cognitive function in patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment.
