The Impact of Oral and Enema Administration of Xiaosheng Decoction After Colonic Polyp Surgery on Patients
Abstract:Objective: To explore the impact of oral and enema administration of Xiaosheng Decoction after colonic polyp surgery on patients. Methods: A total of 92 patients who underwent colonic polypectomy at Puyang City Third People's Hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. According to the different postoperative treatment methods, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 46 cases in each group. The control group received routine treatment, while the observation group received oral and enema administration of Xiaosheng Decoction in addition to routine treatment. The clinical efficacy, TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment, postoperative related indicators, inflammatory indicators, and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The wound healing time, hospitalization time, and time to first gastrointestinal gas passage after surgery in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The recurrence rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The application of Xiaosheng Decoction after colonic polyp resection has a significant effect, which can alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients, reduce inflammatory reactions, promote postoperative recovery, and reduce the recurrence rate.
